Good Earth 915x915 but hung as a lozenge. Real earths bound with acrylic resins on canvas with a collage of real vegetable seeds and a real red deer antler tine suspended on string stitching.
In the days of the first farmers, red symbolised the life force and black fertility, whereas white was associated with death. Red deer antlers were used rather like we might use a garden fork. The colours of the seeds correspond with the colours of the fertile earths. The lozenge was an ancient symbol of the feminine and of fertility.
