Silbury Hill: Ancient Tracks 760x610 Local Wiltshire chalkand other real earths from the UK and Western Ireland bound with acrylic resins on canvas

We look down on Silbury Hill, a huge man-made conical mound set in a moat-like earthwork from which the chalky hill material was dug in Neolithic times. The moat resembles the side view of a woman, the Earth Mother goddess, surely, sitting with her knees up in birthgiving posture, the hill being her heavily pregnant belly. The pathway up and down is a double spiral umbilicus worn, like the nearby streamside footpath by generations of hill-builders and visitors approaching from Avebury stone circle.
